Tooth Fairy Overview

Dwayne Johnson stars as Derek Thompson, one of the toughest hockey players around -- until he's sentenced to one week's hard labor as the world's most unlikely tooth fairy! Even though he must sport frilly wings and learn the magical tricks of the trade from his silver-winged superiors (Julie Andrews and Billy Crystal), Derek's determined to do the job HIS way and prove he's got what it takes!

Also includes the Tooth Fairy Training Center--a high-energy boot camp that will get the whole family off the couch and into the fun.

Tooth Fairy Specifications

Dreams and "what ifs" have no place in the life of hockey player Derek Thompson (Dwayne Johnson). As a major league player who's been moved down to the minor leagues following an injury, Derek thrives on negative attention, is ruthlessly pragmatic, and doesn't think twice about crushing the hopes and dreams of even his youngest fans. His poor attitude spills over into his personal life when he almost convinces his girlfriend's young daughter Tess (Destiny Whitlock) that the tooth fairy doesn't exist. As if the potential end to his relationship with girlfriend Carly (Ashley Judd) wasn't bad enough, Derek's actions inexplicably result in a nighttime summons from the "Department of Dissemination of Disbelief." Transformed into a tutu-wearing fairy with wings and whisked away to a fairy world, Derek assumes that his fanciful journey--and his sentencing by the head fairy (Julie Andrews) to a two-week stint as a tooth fairy--is just a bad dream. When his pager starts buzzing and wings sprout from his back at inopportune times, he realizes that his sentence is for real, yet he continues to deny the possibility that dreams and imagination have value. Derek's disbelief makes him an extremely inept fairy, but with the help of fellow fairy Tracy (Stephen Merchant) and some bonding time spent with Tess and her brother Randy (Chase Ellison), he begins to glimpse the importance of dreams and imagination and even manages to rediscover some of his own dreams in the process. Derek is definitely one crazy fairy, but Dwayne Johnson's skilled performance drives home the message that it's OK to dream, believe, and imagine. (Ages 7 and older) --Tami Horiuchi

Alice in Wonderland 2010 DVD - A quick and honest assessment

As for the DVD of children, child trafficking is the program great films in years, Alice returns to Wonderland after 19 to convince themselves that their first visit at the age of 6 years, it was just a dream. There was widespread criticism of this film, some say it is terrible and nothing like the first (in the sense that she should not keep), and some say that is an excellent complement to the most popular publications of Lewis Carroll.

We believe that this film is a goodMixture of two popular publications, "Alice in Wonderland" and "Alice Through the Looking Glass". We enjoyed the majority of the film, although adults can be a bit 'a setback when compared with the publication. Having said that, with regard to the DVD of children, Alice in Wonderland 2010 is certainly see, and we think he did one of the best films of Tim Burton in general.

A word of warning though, this film is much darkerothers who may have experienced - even the Disney version. Probably not a great movie for kids. Some of the fight scenes are perhaps not ideal for everyone - even if the certification indicates that PG.

Children aged seven or eight, should not consider the problems of this film with his father and mother, though. Not scary - it's just a bit 'on the dark side. Mr. Depp is brilliant to think with this role, and we must admit that we have (aFirst impressions) that would play a similar character like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but in reality he plays a character much more complete, sometimes very funny. As adults, we have a good laugh out loud several times in the film, what day is unusual for the DVD of children on it.

Mia Wasikowska who plays Alice, is a great young actress and a role very well. Helena Bonham Carter as the evil Queen of Hearts occupationOriginal Alice in Wonderland fairytale. However, we heard their overall performance was more of Queenie from Blackadder. For those of you who are familiar with this sign, you can set the tone of his voice and gestures a bit 'annoying, but for us it was great fun - although to be honest, a blatant rip-off.

The CGI characters are good, especially the Cheshire Cat (Stephen Fry) and Absalom (Alan Rickman). But in terms of brightness, the landscape in which Alice spends much of his time is not to compete, for example, by Walt Disney. The Jabberwocky is a great dragon-like beast, finally shows up at the end of the film and in terms of computer effects, it is good - it is not surprising.

We have heard much excitement and adventure was much like a Harry Potter film, rather than the traditional story of Alice in Wonderland Disney output. However, like most things, children's playgroundDVD> transform, so we expected a difference of the original film, popular, Alice in Wonderland for Disney.

Finally, I would recommend this for children aged between seven and we recommend that the certificate of PG is maintained. This is a great film, but if you've seen the original movie for Disney, or read the publications of Lewis Carroll, then do not get your hopes up! Children's DVDs are changed so we believe that this is a good reflectionwhat children expect from a movie of those days.

Surrogates Specifications

Intriguingly scaled more along the lines of a good sci-fi short story than a steroid-enhanced action picture, Surrogates proposes a variation on spectatorship-run-amok. In the near future, human beings need no longer leave their homes: mechanical surrogates, similar in appearance (but younger looking, fitter, with fewer wrinkles and more hair) can move about in the world on the user's behalf, following commands and absorbing physical wear and tear. A cop (Bruce Willis) begins investigating a mystifying case of a user who died when his surrogate got blasted by a fancy ray-gun in the street--that's a definite violation of the company guarantee. In the course of a trim, sub-90-minute running time, the Willis character himself is forced to enter the mean streets in his own flesh-and-blood version, not his surrogate, a move that puzzles both his wife (Rosamund Pike) and partner (Radha Mitchell). In the movie's scheme of perfect surrogates and digitally-smoothed faces, the grizzled humanity of Bruce Willis comes blazing through; what a relief to see a battered human in the midst of the beautiful people. Director Jonathan Mostow (Terminator 3) gets the world right, but one waits in vain for a fuller picture of the effects of this surrogate population, or a deeper study of the creator (James Cromwell) of the technology, or a reason to get involved in the rebel leader (Ving Rhames in a fright wig) and his reservation populated by defiant non-surrogates. Sprinting along as it does, Surrogates doesn't find time for these presumably crucial details, and the result feels just a little skin-deep. --Robert Horton

I Can Do Bad All By Myself (Widescreen Edition)

I Can Do Bad All By Myself (Widescreen Edition) Review

I Can Do Bad All By Myself (Widescreen Edition) Overview

TYLER PERRY'S I CAN DO BAD ALL BY MYS - DVD Movie

I Can Do Bad All By Myself (Widescreen Edition) Specifications

In one of his most satisfying films to date, Tyler Perry keeps the faith with his devoted audience, giving them his signature mash-up of heart-wrenching melodrama (there's enough material here for a dozen Lifetime movies), outrageous comic relief, and soul-stirring spiritual uplift. Adapted from his play of the same name, I Can Do Bad All by Myself stars Taraji P. Henson as April, another damaged Perry woman on the verge. She's an alcoholic nightclub singer involved with a controlling married man and estranged from her mother and her church (despite the best efforts of a congregant portrayed by Gladys Knight). When her mother dies, April is forced to take in her dead crack-addict sister's three children. She does not exactly put out the welcome mat. Perry's crowd-pleasing signature character, Madea, aka "the heavyweight champion of the world," is mostly offscreen, but she makes the most of her scant screen time, serving up her own brand of old school discipline ("I promise you gonna come up missing," she threatens one troubled teen who talks back to her) and values-added wisdom ("You get out of this life what you put into it"). Will April finally see the light, accept the Lord, and open her heart to the kids and the saintly (and handsome) Colombian immigrant handyman (Adam Rodriguez) who lives in her basement? Knight, Marvin Winans, and Mary J. Blige raise the roof with showstopping gospel and blues numbers that capture the fervor of a Perry theatrical experience. Another Perry film not screened in advance for critics, another film that was No. 1 at the box office its opening weekend, I Can Do Bad All by Myself is further testimony that, for now, Perry can seemingly do no wrong. --Donald Liebenson
