The best movie of 2009 so far - Top 10 films of the year counted
I realize that 2009 is not over, but since we are in the course of the summer blockbuster season, I thought it would be a good time to submit a list of the 10 best films of 2009 (so far). There are still some great versions as Sherlock Holmes did, there may be some minor changes, when all is said and done, but overall I am quite happy that this is just how things shake. Without further ado, here are my choices for best film of the yearfar:
10 - I Love You - Paul Rudd Anchorman fame and Jason Segel in Forgetting Sarah Marshall and TV's How I Met Your Mother team in this buddy movie classic of a man, you are just discovering, no friends, is for him at his marriage. After pressure from his girlfriend of Peter Klaven (Rudd) is a series to find "man dates" in search of a potential best friend and a man. After several spectacular failures, encounters withFife Sidney (Segel), a painfully honest, but a true friend. Although seemingly polar opposites, the pair remove it immediately, mainly because of a mutual love of rock band Rush. However, Peter Groom Zooey (Rashida Jones) is less than impressed with Sidney influence on her husband.
The film is intelligent and always more fun, and support to actors such as Jon Favreau, JK Simmons, Jaime Pressley, Andy Sandberg and Jane Curtin. If you missed thisTheatre make sure you get it, because it is a DVD on years of the most entertaining films.
9 - Coraline - One of the best films of the year is also one of the most unusual. With the voice acting of Dakota Fanning, Teri Hatcher and Ian McShane is an animated film Coraline, who seemed very different from the usual range is from Pixar and Dreamworks. Fanning voices the main character Coraline Jones, who discovers a secret door in his house goes through, anddiscovered an alternative reality to real life. The animation is first class, stop-motion stereoscopic 3D, and combined with the voice acting with, and the fascinating story of the film is equally determined adults will be enjoying a moment that for the classical and in the coming years by the children.
8 - Watchmen - To be honest, when I heard this movie came out I took it for a year would have finished much higher on a list of the best films of the year. This is not tosay I'm disappointed - I liked the film immensely - but not as much as I thought I did.
Very different from films of superheroes like Spiderman and traditional film X-Men were much darker, aggressive side in the spirit of a film like Sin City. The film is not as action packed as I expected, and tends to wander and / or drag in parts. However, the notch in quality and history of Rorschach (Jackie Earle Hayley) is particularly good. For fans ofthe graphic novel this movie could be a sort of disappointment, but it is much better than big budget films such as GI Joe: Rise of the Cobra, and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
7 - Public Enemies - Johnny Depp is the most versatile actors in Hollywood to work in the present. If he plays a crazy pirate, a demonic barber, or in this case, it's legendary bad boy John Dillinger, has always completely believable. Public Enemies is a film very good, even ifThis is not Goodfellas or other films of this caliber as one of the best gangster film of all time. Similar to the Watchmen film seems to drag in places, but there is enough stock in an exchange of views to keep on your toes. Christian Bale as FBI agent Melvin Purvis is not as good as Depp, but a useful work.
Despite some minor flaws Public Enemies remains to be seen at least once, and the stage of the film and digital images are as good asobtained.
6 - The Hurt Locker - all the movies on this list, perhaps with the exception of "Coraline," Hurt Locker is the most unnoticed. With names like Guy Pearce, Ralph Fiennes and even Evangeline Lily is television's Lost is the star power to get decent but for some reason the promotion film it deserves. As emotional as it is exciting The Hurt Locker offers the public a vision of a vibrant portrait of an elite unit that has the unenviable task (ieat least) of bombs in the middle of the fight. They are among the many that this DVD does not need to hear from film definitely check it out when it hits.
5 - Inglourious Basterds - There was a lot of hype about this film, with director Quentin Tarantino and Brad Pitt Holly A-list actor attached to the film, expectations are high almost a shock. Tarantino is back in style with lukewarm reviews his latest film "Death Proof, with thisThe story of a group of Jewish-American soldiers who spread terror through the enemy ranks brutally murdered by the Nazis. Pitt stars in the title role of Lieutenant Aldo Raine, and although the film of about 2.5 hours pulling ever found. If you hurry you can still take in theaters. Otherwise, you have to wait months until it sees the light of day on DVD so long.
4 - Up - Coraline as good as it was, could not dethrone the 800-pound gorilla for PixarTitle of best animated film of 2009. Pixar, like Johnny Depp, just never seem to make a bad film, and no matter how much praise piled on them for a film that seems somehow to overcome in the next.
Ed Asner, who was as good as Lou Grant on television many years ago, shows he has not lost her acting abilities, turning in a superb performance as the voice of Carl Fredricksen, a grumpy old man, who goes on an adventure incredibleto respond to the twilight of his life, a promise for life to his dead wife. The film, like all Pixar movies, has a lot of humor, but also has moments that you blink back tears. If you are a fan of Pixar films, you surely have seen one, but if I had wanted to film as a child, do yourself a disservice, and be sure to take a DVD (or Blu-Ray) on the day to take it shopping.
3 - District 9 -Although there are many who call this movie the greatest science fiction films of all time I do not go that far. However, it is an incredible film and a dazzling debut for director Neil Blomkamp. The film is unusual from the beginning simply because of its setting. The story is set in South Africa, a refreshing departure from other foreign "invasion" movies that always seem to take place on American soil. As you can see I put the word invasionQuotes. This is not your typical movie, where Army troops and some civilians extraordinary destruction to defend the Earth by the alien visitors wanted. Instead, the aliens purpose is unknown, and are separated and forced into slums under the watchful eye of the military. I will not get too many specific details, but suffice it to say, the film is very different from all the sci-fi movie I've ever seen.
2 - The Hangover - Whilethis can not be the applause of some other films have enjoyed in this list, earns its place Hangover as it is one of the funniest comedies to come along in years. Actor Ed Helms, Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis outrageously funny, the film is about two guys (and a soon to be brother-in-law) who take their friend Doug in Las Vegas for his bachelor party. As often happens in Las Vegas (in real life) things quickly out of hand and after a night of drinkingThe excesses of the team wakes up tired and found that she had lost her boyfriend. Can not remember what happened and should seek to try to understand their steps from the night before and find him, Doug and home in time for her wedding.
Do not forget to keep the bottom of this. The presentation during the opening credits is as fun as the main feature.
1 - Star Trek - With so many installments of the classic sci-fi venerable already seemed unlikely that anotherChapter would arrive at number one on the list of the top 10 best films of 2009. But here it is. Why, you ask? Simply put, this is not your father's Star Trek. The series has been completely reinvented, much in the way that Batman Begins was a few years ago. E 'darker, more violent and harder than all the previous installments.
This film is actually a prequel to the other, and follows the adventures of a young James Kirk, who describes how he arrived at the Academy, met Spock, Bones,Scotty and the rest of the crew, and finally came to the captain of the starship Enterprise.
If you're not a fan of the original series and will have snubbed this film as a result of making a mistake. This film is great without an inveterate Trekkie, and if you have not seen it make sure you mark your calendar on November 17th as this is the day that will be available on DVD.
